I quite like doing it in DAZ because you have to think about how the light works in order to get a realistic result. With good multiple lighting environments in DAZ seldom can you tell the difference between that and a LUX render. in 3DS Max it is quicker than having to muck about in Lux. Once you have a material library set up for your favourite characters skin/hair/garments etc. Include an individual prop, a group prop, a default material, and a 9-page user manual.Requirements: DAZ Studio 4.x, Luxus for DAZ Studio, LuxRender. It still takes a lot of time to convert as only ambient material settings come across as an FBX but it is worth the effort in the long run. Bring every room to life with this lighting prop designed simulate out of focus light. If I need absolute photo accuracy I tend to export to 3DS Max. You don't get the same level of accuracy and material reflection bleed that you get from LUX, Mental Ray or VRay. The new AoA Advanced Ambient light is very good in DAZ as are Omni. Materials with transparency tend to be problematic and materials don't always double side. It takes far too long to render to an acceptable standard and I get completely fed up with having repair almost every material before rendering. The armour didn't have enough depth of texture (bump/displacement) either and looks too flat. In summary, when it comes to color casts, unless there are multiple different colored light sources in the scene, less is more. You might only be aware of how yellow it is if you take any non colour corrected photographs. While you might be aware of this yellowness initially you quickly start to see the yellow light as white. The lighting in the exhibition halls is quite yellow. However, because (for example) yellow colors look white under sodium (yellow light ) if we see something which we know to be yellow we then see more yellow in the light.Ī good illustration of this is The National Exhibition Center Birmingham (England). It is only through un corrected color photos and theatre settings (blue light means night etc.) that we associate such strong colour casts. If you are in a room where the predominant light color is yellow your brain will see that color as white. I'm sleepy. The human brain is a clever thing in that it auto white balances. I think I need to resubmit with just a Genesis figure and default skin, so everyone can use the scene. I may not leave this exact file on here much longer. Luxus will automatically translate your scene to LuxRender, or you can control. I wanted to share my attempts and, at the same time, exchange knowledge with other people using Luxus. Luxus allows you to render a DAZ Studio scene to an image using LuxRender. I have been following the thread on DAZ but didn't own Freak, so this change to Genesis is very much appreciated, thank you :) Thanks to your excellent poitners, I've finally getting that special umph in Luxus that the SSS gives. I've been struggling with figuring everything out and thought."Wouldn't it be great to just see someone else's setup?" And you did it.

LUXUS FOR DAZ STUDIO DOWNLOAD

To be honest, I think I need to download it myself, since I haven't been in Luxus for ages and can't remember most of what I did then, lol. Your tutorial has inspired me to do just that. I really need to give Luxus a chance and do the same.

I just have not put the time and love into Luxus as I have with Reality (I literally have a notebook FULL of Reality tips, tricks, render settings and textures for virtually every part of the human body.). However, I find myself still being biased in opinion. I had Reality for a great deal longer before buying Luxus, I thought I would like that it was dedicated to DAZ (where as Reality is split between Poser and Daz). I just have not put the time and love into Luxus as I have with Reality (I literally have a notebook FULL of Reality tips, more … I have sort of rebeled against Luxus since I bought it. LuxRender is an unbiased 3D rendering engine based on what 3D lighting does in. However, I find myself still being biased in opinion. Luxus tightly integrates LuxRender materials and textures as shaders in Carrara.
